A Heartwarming End to 2023: Giving Joy at V. Luna Hospital
As 2023 comes to a close, my heart is filled with gratitude and joy. The Joyful Giver® wrapped up its final activity for the year with a special visit to the AFP Medical Center (V. Luna Hospital). It was a day filled with love, laughter, and simple acts of kindness as we shared groceries, food, balloons, and gift packs with the pediatric patients and their families.
The joy in the children’s eyes was priceless. Despite the challenges they face, their smiles reminded me of the power of kindness. It doesn’t take much to make a difference—sometimes, a thoughtful gift, a kind word, or even just a balloon is enough to brighten someone’s day.
If you have the chance to make someone happy, just do it. Your simple gestures, no matter how small, can create ripples of hope and happiness in someone’s life. That’s the beauty of giving: it connects us, lifts us, and brings light into the darkest moments.
I am deeply thankful to Ma’am Col. Jonna Dalida Dalaguit for joining us during this meaningful activity. Your presence brought extra joy to the children and their families, and I couldn’t be more grateful for your support. A heartfelt thanks to my daughter, M.A., who stood by my side, helping distribute food and gifts with so much love. Seeing her take part in this act of giving filled my heart with pride and warmth. And, of course, a big thank you to Francis and Marie from Great Deals Home Depot, whose assistance and support made this day even more special.
This visit was a reminder of a simple truth: happiness doesn’t come from what we get, but from what we give. There’s no greater joy than knowing we’ve touched lives, even in the smallest way. The smiles and laughter we shared with the children at V. Luna Hospital were a powerful testament to how meaningful giving can be.
As we close the year, I look back on all that we’ve accomplished with deep gratitude—for the opportunities to give back, for the kindness of those who supported us, and for the lives we’ve been able to touch.
